Season of Betrayal Continues with Othello

Our 5th season, the Season of Betrayal, continues this weekend with that classic tale of jealousy and revenge, Othello.

Othello (Sarah Palmero), a Moorish general of the Venetian army, has just married the lovely Desdemona (Gillian Rains), but the conniving and envious soldier, Iago (Dale Lisa Flint), is bitter at Othello for having been passed over for advancement. What follows is one of Shakespeare’s most famous stories of deceit, revenge, and the tragic events that occur when the truth is manipulated for selfish means.

Left to right, top: Sarah Palmero as Othello, Gillian Rains as Desdemona, Dale Lisa Flint as Iago, Christine Nicholson as Emilia/Brabantio, Kathleen Poe as Michael Cassio, Julianna Camille Hess as Roderigo,

Left to right, bottom: Rosalind Smith as Bianca/Senator/Gentleman, Margaux Warren as Duke of Venice/Gratiano/Gentleman, Johnna Wood as Lodovico/Sailor, Felicity Johnson as Montano/Senator, Erika McCall as Senator/Gentleman.

We’ll be taking over Fremont Park again this weekend, Aug. 22 – 25, for Othello. Curtain is at 6:00pm and admission is free.

We are excited to offer an opportunity to win two tickets to one of Capital Stage’s plays this season thanks to a very generous supporter of ours, James Quierolo. Make a donation of $10 or more either on our ticket site or in person, and we’ll enter your name into our prize opportunity. For every 10 donations above the first 10, we’ll add one more set of two (up to 4 sets available). Drawing will be held on Sunday, Aug. 25 at the close of our Othello performance. Need not be present to win (as long as we have your contact information.)
