Sneak into Shakespeare – Tips and Tricks

Sneak into Shakespeare? Do you love Shakespeare? Do you wish you loved Shakespeare? Join us and discover the beauty of Shakespeare, his language and his universal themes.

Sneak into Shakespeare

In this 4-week class, we will sneak into Shakespeare in a way to make it really easy to work with. First, you will learn new approaches to the text. Second, you’ll engage in exciting activities to help you work out the details. And third, you’ll explore rhythms of a scene, and “Speak the speech, I pray you, as I pronounced it to you, trippingly on the tongue” (what play is that from? Answer in the workshop.)

No experience in Shakespeare or theatre is required for this class, it’s open to all. All students must reside in West Sacramento. The play we will focus on is “The Tempest and we will provide you with a paper or digital copy.

We are thrilled to be a recipient of a generous grant from the West Sacramento Community Foundation. This workshop is the result of that grant.
