Our Mission

Who we are

Who we are is Wildflower Women’s Ensemble. Wildflower was born of the desire to create vibrant classical theatre with entirely female casts. Founded in July 2015 by Julianna Hess, Lori Ann DeLappe-Grondin, and Joshua Anderson, Wildflower is based in the Sacramento Region and draws influences from Sacramento Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare’s Globe, Utah Shakespeare, Orlando Shakespeare, Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Company and the Shakespeare Theatre Association.

What we do

Wildflower Women’s Ensemble is an all-women and non-binary persons Shakespeare theatre company based out of Sacramento, CA dedicated to creating vibrant, lively, and wild Shakespeare. The artists of Wildflower strive to inspire and give new life to the masterful works of William Shakespeare while staying true to the language and the text, at the same time building brand new creations that are unique to each production.

How we do it

Wildflower Women’s Ensemble provides free Shakespeare for all with performances in the Sacramento area and live streams to share worldwide. Our productions will take place in spring and fall with workshops, readings, and classes ranging throughout the year.
