Rehearsals have begun…this IS a problem play!
Tonight we began rehearsal for the first show of our second season, Measure for Measure. The read through was successful, the play is just the right length, and the cast…oh, the cast…is glorious! M4M is a “problem play” or a “dark comedy.” The main story line is fairly serious with comedy woven through here and there. It is categorized under “comedy” and does indeed end with a wedding…of sorts…but not in the grand way that Midsummer or As You Like It does.
We’ll take you on a walk through our process each week we have rehearsal and explore this play while we go…it’s gonna be a wonderous and amazing journey!
Wildflower Women's Ensemble
Wildflower Women’s Ensemble was born of the desire to create vibrant classical theatre with entirely female casts. Founded in July 2015 by Julianna Hess, Lori Ann DeLappe-Grondin, and Joshua Anderson, Wildflower is based in the Sacramento Region and draws influences from Sacramento Shakespeare Festival, Davis Shakespeare Ensemble Shakespeare’s Globe, Utah Shakespeare, Orlando Shakespeare, Shakespeare on the Vine and the Shakespeare Theatre Association.
